NBCC Recognizes Rep. Neal's Efforts to Include Counselors in Medicare
U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, as Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, was instrumental in securing the passage of Medicare coverage for counselors and marriage and family therapists in last year’s federal omnibus budget bill. The Medicare Mental Health Workforce Coalition recently honored Rep. Neal in a formal reception.

NBCC Board Director, Dr. Michael Brooks, Receives ACA Presidential Citation
Michael Brooks, PhD, NCC, LMHC, LPC-S, an NBCC board director, was recently awarded a presidential citation by Dr. Kimberly Frazier, 2023 President of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Earlier this month, the NBCC Foundation hosted its annual Bridging the Gap Symposium with the theme of From Awareness to Action. Highlights of the event included a presentation by African American counseling legends and the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the NBCCF Minority Fellowship Program.
