Three arrested for trespassing on Selangor MB's official residence


SHAH ALAM: Three men, including a journalist, have been arrested for trespassing into the official residence of the Selangor Mentri Besar.

The incident occurred at around 5.10pm Friday (Jan 5) when a journalist from a local news portal went there without any prior invitation.

The man was not allowed to enter by police at the main security post and ten minutes later, a vehicle with two men inside arrived and claimed that they had a meeting there.

Two policemen checked the vehicle at the parking lot and recognised the journalist who attempted to enter earlier in the passenger seat.

When contacted, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari’s press secretary Jay Jay Dennis confirmed the incident.

"They were arrested for trespassing and posing a security risk. They were taken to the police station in Section 6, Shah Alam.

"it looks like they were acting under orders. Fortunately, police reacted promptly to prevent any untoward incident," he said.

A video of the alleged incident was posted on X by Jason Yew, the former political secretary of Teja assemblyman Sandrea Ng.
