Land Rover has been increasing their car prices on a spree but now as the reality has hit, they Have reduced the prices of their 2024 Range Rover Velar significantly, so let's discuss the Price decrease in detail.

Why the Prices of Cars have increased in the past few years?

Inflation has caused a massive surge in commodity prices in India. In fact, due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, the prices of various commodities have increased even more due to high demand and less supply. The same inflation also hit the Indian Automobile Industry, which made the prices of cars and motorcycles go up high. Now, the price increase of an affordable car is commendable, as the price will not jump much higher. But, it becomes worse in the premium and luxury cars, as their price jump is substantial. 

How much did Land Rover decrease Velar's Price?

This made the Land Rover Range Rover Velar overpriced. Before this price cut, the Velar was priced at ₹93 lacs in July 2023, and further in December 2023, the prices were increased to ₹94.3 lacs. But, after this price decrease of the Land Rover Range Rover Velar, its prices have been cut down up to ₹6.4 lacs, which now, makes the Velar’s prices at ₹87.9 lacs. 

Why did Land Rover cut Velar's Prices?

From the past year, we have been noticing a positive response in the sales chart of premium and luxury cars, specifically SUVs. The Land Rover Range Rover Velar is from the same segment of cars in India, which is premium-luxury SUVs, Land Rover decided to take advantage of this moment and boost the sales of their Velar SUV. 

Moreover, Land Rover has also noticed a severe demand for their Defender. This also confirms that Land Rover SUVs are well acknowledged in India, hence, they further used the opportunity to make the Velar successful. 

Land Rover Range Rover Velar Design

Land Rover India gave us the updated Velar last year in July. The 2024 Velar got a minimal update in terms of its design, which can also be called a facelift. The overall, structure of the SUV is very similar to the one of the Velar. 

On the front of the Velar, we have a glossy black colored grille, which also acts as the primary grille of the SUV. The Land Rover logo has been offset as usual. Moving below, we have the air dams, which also consist of the Front parking sensors. On both lower sides of the front, we have two stylish air vents, too. The Velar also gets ADAS functionalities, so we can see the Cameras on the windshield. The Headlamps are fully LED and also have an adaptive feature, wherein, it adjusts the headlight throw of the SUV. 

The Side of the 2024 Range Rover Velar India is similar with no change. It still gets a similar roof that has a slight slopping design. The Velar gets a new alloy wheel design for its 2024 version, they are 20’ in size. There are no wheel claddings over the wheels, but there are claddings between the wheels, which have been given a glossy black treatment. The wheel arches are smooth and minimal. The Velar gets a dual-tone color scheme, which makes the upper half of the SUV completely black. 

The Rear of the Velar is minimal and cool-looking, with a black-colored bar for the LED tail lamps. The rear bumper is substantial on the Velar, where it becomes visible. 

Land Rover Range Rover Velar Powertrains

The Velar gets two engine options in India, and both have Automatic transmissions only. The first one is a 2.0 L Petrol Engine that produces 246 hp and 365 Nm of Torque. The second option is a 2.0 L Diesel Engine producing 201 hp and 420 Nm of Torque. 

With respect to the size and positioning of the Velar in the Indian market, the engines will feel smaller. But, this has been done to get some tax relief from the Indian Government.
