Please Help A Hardworking Family.

My friend, her husband and 2 children moved into a property and spent all their savings on renovating it.

They began saving for an Extension, they managed to save enough money to cover all costs to extend their home.

The work began in April 2022 but it’s became as and when, nearly 2 years on they are still in a dangerous position.

They have spent 76k on the house build all their savings and been left in a mess.

The rogue trader has left them with holes everywhere, the house they previously renovated is ruined. The house cannot reach a comfortable temperature because of the holes letting the heat out.

The children’s bedrooms have holes in the roof so with the bad weather it is all coming in, causing the plaster to come off the walls.

The house is not habitable but as it stands finances are so low they have no other option.

The children’s health, little girls asthma is the worst it’s ever been.

They are living from one pay day to another, even with an extra bill now as therapy has been introduced., because of the impact the build has had on them.

Both adults work full time with 2 children. They have worked endlessly to try and get the builder to put things right but he won’t, they have paid upfront for work that hasn’t been done. The last occasion £12,000 was given to the builder to complete the work, promised the date of 31st October 2023. The money has gone and the builder hasn't been back since.

The dreams of a lovely house have been shattered and all the family are suffering with their mental health.

I reach out to you to help, if you could find for the house to be made safe and sealed, the house is full of damp and mould, causing health issues to both the children.

It’s so hard to watch such a lovely lady, who would bend over backwards for anyone, to be under so much pressure and stress is horrible to watch such a strong character become so weak over the repercussions of a cowboy builder.

If its a penny or a pound it will all go towards a lovely family achieving a habitable home. Let bring the community spirit back , everyone deserves a warm safe home.
