The Chicago Blackhawks are likely to Draft a Defenseman in the 2024 Draft

It's easy to quickly move into draft discussions when looking at this year's results on the ice. That's the exciting part of any rebuild, the hope that comes with every draft pick and especially any player selected high in the first round. Connor Bedard, Oliver Moore, Kevin Korchinski, Sam Rinzel, and Frank Nazar have all shown impressive early returns in Kyle Davidson's short tenure as a shrewd drafting general manager.

One thing that has been consistent with Davidson so far is that he will draft the best player on the board when he picks. Whether that means getting a player who has fallen unexpectedly (Oliver Moore, Frank Nazar), a player who represents the top of the board (Kevin Korczynski, Sam Rinzel), or an obvious pick (Connor Bedard). This leads to the next draft and how we can all use this date to try to see where the Blackhawks might go in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Before jumping into the aforementioned 2024 draft class, though, it's important to look at 2025 and 2026. With 14 picks in the top 2 rounds in all 3 drafts, the Hawks will have no shortage of opportunities to add impact players to the organization.
