She announced herself off the very first ball she faced with a massive six to win Mumbai Indians the game on the opening night of the Women’s Premier League. And within a month of her exploits, she finds herself in the big league. SAJANA SAJEEVAN GETS HER MAIDEN INDIA CALL-UP.

With her impressive striking ability and the power to go hard right from the start, the Kerala star all set to bolster India’s middle-order in the upcoming five-match T20I tour of Bangladesh as preparation for the T20 World Cup later in the year. Don’t forget her more than useful off-breaks either.

She joins five of her other MI team mates in the 16-person squad – Kaptaan Harmanpreet Kaur, who’d be itching to go out there and put the heartbreak of the previous T20 World Cup behind her, opener explosive, Yastika Bhatia, all-rounder supreme, Pooja Vastrakar, pocket dynamo Amanjot Kaur, and the super-aggressive left-arm spinner, Saika Ishaque. All of them are coming off  a wonderful season in the Blue and Gold, and we cannot wait for them don the Indian Blue, and bring home the much-awaited silverware!

Squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Dayalan Hemalatha, Sajana Sajeevan, Richa Ghosh (wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Radha Yadav, Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar, Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Saika Ishaque, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu

All five matches are set to be played in Sylhet between April 29 and May 9. The 2024 T20 World Cup is set to be held in the country in September-October. There’s some history between these two sides as well after the previous tour which will make this series all the more fun to watch, and Paltan, you know the drill. Let’s get into the groove, shall we?
