Following 2023’s raw and provocative ‘i am rezonant’ [RZB001], two ambitious artists further tease the paradigm of Dance Music on Rezonant Body’s latest 12”, ‘Auto / It’s Raining (Sativa)’ [RZB002].

Taking residence on side A, Swedish-born producer Vilhelm cites an exquisite passage through glassy, esoteric Jungle. Fortified by a characteristically thunderous low-end, Hasselgren’s crystalline harmonics float effortlessly between agile breakbeats.

RZB founder, Daddy Hyphen, assumes a contrastingly coarse and turbid sound on the record’s B side. Like petrol shimmering in polluted waters, ephemeral glimpses of clarity are clouded in a swirling pool of broken, percussive Dub-Techno.

Across the record’s 26-minute runtime, Hyphen and Hasselgren strike an arresting balance between technicality and fluidity. Rousing a vision of industrial force colliding with the natural world, a question is posed: ‘𝔚𝔥𝔢𝔯𝔢 𝔡𝔬 𝔥𝔲𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔰 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔦𝔫 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔰 𝔠𝔬𝔩𝔩𝔦𝔰𝔦𝔬𝔫?’”
