Bersatu supreme council unanimously rejects Muhyiddin's decision

SHAH ALAM: The Bersatu supreme council has unanimously decided not to accept Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announcement not to defend the president post at the next party polls.

In a statement, Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the supreme council did not accept Muhyiddin's decision.

"The supreme council has unanimously decided to reject the suggestion by Muhyiddin not to defend his position as president in the party polls next year," said Hamzah.

A source had said that in an emergency meeting held on Friday (Nov 24), supreme council members stated that they did not want the post to be contested and for this to be conveyed to Muhyiddin.
