SUMMARY
EXPERIENCE
As a passionate software engineering enthusiast, I am deeply committed to
continuous learning and thrive on challenges. With a meticulous and adaptable
approach, I focus on every detail to develop innovative and robust solutions
for intricate problems. I am eager to make a meaningful impact and contribute
significantly to transformative projects.
SHORELINE
Software Engineer
US west coast startup, the product is an automation and remediation
platform for large fleets of machines
Worked in a very small team (4 people at most in my time zone, a few more
in USA), self-organized and most of the time self-managed, delivered
features and projects from concept to production
Most of my work revolved around our custom database service. Initially it
was written in Golang, which I maintained. With help from two interns, we
rewrote it in Rust for considerable performance gains - on average 30%
less CPU and memory usage across various use cases.
After the mentioned rewrite I was left to maintain and improve it by adding
features, optimization and building other services on top of it, services
such as a SQL migration framework and a task scheduler.
Designed and implemented services for auditing and metering the usage of
our system
Worked on many internal debug tools and scripts (Rust, python, bash)
Trained a junior on our application and Rust codebase which then helped
implement services designed by me
Trained multiple interns and guided them to completing a project which we
then used as part of our application or as a debug tool
Because of the small team, I had to understand and use DevOps concepts
and tools such as kubernetes, Docker, Github CI
Technical Skills and Tools: Rust, tokio-rs, gRPC, Golang, Python, GIT,
Github CI, Docker, SQL, Software system design

The client is one of the biggest companies that is focusing on general
insurance for United Kingdom and Canada. This was an extension to the
already developed system in order to integrate with third party systems
and open the client to new markets.
The team I was part of worked at the third party integrations that provide
enrichment for the data present in the system.
The biggest challenge was re-thinking and refactoring some existing
plugins that deal with third parties as those reached a point where
extending the current logic was too difficult.
Another challenge was initially understanding the existing functionalities as
there was very little documentation. While I worked at a small part of the
system, it required a solid grasp of the whole application because most of
the data in the system was passing through the plugins I developed.
Technical Skills and Tools: C#, WCF, GIT, ElasticSearch, NServiceBus,
Microservices, CQRS.

The project was a web-based employee management system,
implemented from scratch.
The team I was part of worked at the user management functionality,
mainly the managing of user data and integration with third parties that
provide or enrich user data.
Interacted with the business analyst team to understand the system
requirements.

PERSONAL PROJECTS
The first "big" personal project I ever worked on was a C implementation
of the classic Minesweeper game. I worked on this in 2016, my first year of
university.
The original implementation was amateurish and hard to understand as I
had no experience designing an application. My main goal was to design
and implement a similar game, in C# this time, to see how far I've come.
This time I wanted it to be easier to understand and extend.

In November 2019 I wanted to try game development, this is a trial
project that I managed to finish: an implementation of the classic Pong
game in the Monogame framework.
The goal of this project was to understand how a low-level game
development framework works and how to use a low-level physics engine
