Early Dismissal: A Survey of American Educators
Hello current/former American Educator,

I was one of 500,000 American teachers who left the classroom between March 2020 and December 2022. 16 years of teaching Art and English to multiple grade levels in both public and private schools culminated in my seemingly abrupt resignation and inspired me to write a book called Early Dismissal: The Alarming Conditions Behind the Mass Exodus of America's Educators.

With input from teachers like you, this book will offer a raw look at who is leaving the profession, why it's happening, and why it matters. Please answer these questions from the perspective of your most recent teaching position, even if you have left the classroom. There are many spaces available if you'd like to provide more examples from throughout your career.

So often teachers are expected to be super heroes rather than human beings. It's time to expose our true identities are real people, with real problems, inside the classroom and out. I invite you to use this survey as an opportunity to speak your truth without repercussions and anonymously, if you prefer.

Thank you for your time and for your honesty!
