Morgan State Unveils 2024 Football Schedule

The Bears will celebrate Homecoming against Lincoln (Pa.) on Oct. 5 at Hughes Stadium.

2024 Football Schedule

BALTIMORE, Md. (February 8, 2024) --
The Morgan State football schedule for 2024 features non-conference games against Hampton, Towson, and Ohio, as well as Homecoming against Lincoln (Pa.) highlight the 11-game schedule released today.

"I'm excited about our 11 game schedule that was put together for the 2024 football season," said Coach Damon Wilson.  "We play teams from four different conferences before we start conference play."

"I believe the schedule will prepare us for our conference games as each game will pose a different challenge," added Wilson.  "We have the opportunity to play five games at home and six regular season games on the road.  I look forward to seeing our alums and supporters at the Brick City Classic to start off the season against Hampton University."

The Bears open the 2024 season on Aug. 31 against the Hampton Pirates in the  Prudential Brick City HBCU Kickoff Classic in Harrison, New Jersey.

Morgan will follow with a pair of road games. On Sept. 7, Morgan will face the Towson Tigers in the 'Battle for Greater Baltimore' at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Morgan will then travel to Athens, Ohio for an FBS matchup against the Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 14. It will mark the first meeting between the teams.

On Sept. 21, Morgan's home-opener will be against Virginia University of Lynchburg for 'Bear Family Day' at Hughes Stadium. Morgan overwhelmed the Dragons 44-10 in their last meeting (Oct. 1, 2022) and leads the series 3-0.

Morgan will continue its non-conference slate when it travels to Stony Brook for a Sept. 28 matchup. In their last meeting (Nov. 5, 2022), the Seawolves kicked a game-winning field goal to hold off the Bears 24-22 at LaValle Stadium.

The Bears will celebrate Homecoming when they welcome Lincoln (Pa.) to Hughes Stadium on Oct. 5.  As a result of last year's cancelled homecoming game against Stony Brook, this will be the Bears' first homecoming since 2022.

The Bears will be coming off of a bye week when they open conference play on Oct. 26 at North Carolina Central.

Morgan will then host the Spartans of Norfolk State on Nov. 2, before wrapping its road slate on Nov. 9 when it travels to Delaware State.

The Bears conclude the regular season with a pair of home matchups. Morgan will face the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Nov. 16, followed by the regular season finale against Beltway rival and the reigning MEAC Champion Howard Bison on Nov. 23.

Morgan was picked to finish fourth (4th) in the MEAC preseason head football coaches and sports information directors, but instead finished in a 2-way tie for second place with a 3-2 mark in league play.  Morgan concluded the 2023 season with 4-6 record.

The team plans to hold its annual Spring Game at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.
