Bournemouth v Sheffield United

Bournemouth -1

They may have more points than the infamous Derby team of 07/08, but there is a serious argument that this Sheffield United team are the worst team in Premier League history.

The Blades have lost their last three home games by a combined score of 16-0 and have conceded an astounding 72 goals in 27 games, just 17 short of the 89 conceded by Derby, a record for a 38-game season. There is even an outside chance that they will match the 100 goals conceded by Swindon in 1993/94.

They face a Bournemouth side that claimed their first league win of 2024 against Burnley last weekend, which should give Andoni Iraola’s side a much-needed boost.

The Cherries won 3-1 at Bramall Lane earlier in the season and it wouldn’t be at all surprising if they didn’t win by at least the same margin on Saturday.

(-1)

Dominic Solanke to Score

Dominic Solanke has had an excellent season at Bournemouth, scoring 14 times in 26 games, but he has scored just three times in his last nine league outings and will be looking at Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United as an opportunity to boost his numbers for the season.

The Blades have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 11 games and no away games all season. They face a whopping 17.4 shots per game – the highest of any team in the league and have conceded five goals or more in six separate league games.

Solanke, who is by far and away Bournemouth’s top scorer, is also their most frequent shooter, averaging 3.1 shots per league game. There is every chance that he will get a number of opportunities on Saturday and he is good value to take one of them.

Crystal Palace v Luton

Both Teams to Score

Luton put it up to every team they face, but they desperately need to start getting results if they are to stay up. Rob Edwards’ side are without a win in five league games, losing each of their last four, and could be cut adrift very quickly. They do, however, always manage to find the back of the net, scoring in each of their last 14 league games in a run stretching back to mid-November.

Their problem has been keeping the goals out at the other end. Luton managed just two clean sheets in that 14-game spell and conceded a whopping 32 goals. Meanwhile, both teams have found the back of the net in five of the last six games involving Crystal Palace.

Both sides should get on the scoresheet on Saturday.

Eberechi Eze to be Fouled 3 or more times

Luton are one of the best disciplined teams in the league in terms of cards, but that record does not extend to their foul count. They average 11.4 fouls per game, the seventh-highest in the division, and could commit a number of fouls against a Palace side that ranked among the top teams in the league in terms of fouls won per game.

Palace draw an average of 11.7 fouls per game, the sixth-highest in the division, and possess an array of fleet-footed attackers capable of winning freekicks.

No player in the league draws more fouls than Jordan Ayew, but Eberechi Eze represents an excellent price at the current price. Eze draws an average of roughly two fouls per game in the league but is likely to better that average against a robust Luton side playing away from home on Saturday.

Wolves v Fulham

Rodrigo Muniz to have 3 or more Shots

Wolves are an incredibly difficult team to predict and seem to swing from the ridiculous to the sublime on a weekly basis. Fulham, on the other hand, have recorded impressive back-to-back wins against Manchester United and Brighton to move towards the top ten.

Rodrigo Muniz has been central to those wins, scoring in the win over Brighton and making a nuisance of himself against United, striking the post in the first half.

The Brazilian averages 2.2 shots per game and is sure to get plenty of chances against a Wolves side that has faced 86 shots in their last seven league games, conceding 12 goals in the process.
