International students have more than 90 days to job hunt when you play it smart. Correct, after your OPT start date, 90 days can pass and then you fall out of status if without an offer. BUT (!): you can have a volunteer role ready / in hand if well-before your OPT start date. Any volunteer role filed with your school unlocks an entire 12 months to job hunt. I recommend a process of getting an offer within 42-90 days (in that range) in my Career Accelerator Program. What if the H-1B works out? That’s great. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
