NWRA and ORRA Sign MOU to Formalize Relationship

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) and the Oregon Refuse & Recycling Association (ORRA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to formalize their relationship and advance the interests of the private sector waste and recycling industry in Oregon.

“I am pleased that we can formalize our partnership with this MOU,” said NWRA Interim President and CEO Jim Riley. “There are many issues facing our industry in Oregon, and it is important that the waste and recycling industry is united as it works with policymakers.”

“Oregon has one of the strongest solid waste and recycling systems in the country,” said ORRA CEO and Executive Director Kristan Mitchell. “ORRA looks forward to partnering with NWRA to share resources and work together on the priority issues facing our industry and the communities across Oregon that our members serve.”

The waste and recycling industry is committed to protecting the environment and human health. This MOU will help connect critical policy work in Oregon with NWRA’s work across the country with 26 state chapters and at the national level.
