Numbers run out at Shah Alam Immigration office within minutes

PETALING JAYA: The Immigration Department office in Shah Alam is under the spotlight after social media users claimed that the day's quota of queue numbers ran out just 30 minutes after it opened on Friday (Jan 5).

Some visitors claimed they had waited for hours for the office to open, only to be disappointed when the numbers ran out.

"People waited since 1.30am and didn't get the number as within 30 minutes, (the) numbers finished," read one message that went viral.

It was accompanied by a video of visitors crowding the office's entrance as they vented their frustration.

Other users shared previous experiences at Immigration offices.

One recounted that in September 2022, they arrived at the Putrajaya Immigration office at 7am to find over 60 people already in the queue.

In another incident, the queue numbers ran out by 9am after people began lining up from 6.30am, while another user lamented that numbers at the Pudu branch had finished by 8.30am on the day of their visit.
