The story revolves around Dog wanting a donut, which leads to him picking apples from his apple tree. However, he gets distracted while playing baseball with the apples. Lucy's favorite part is the ending, where it's suggested that if Dog asks for apple juice, he'll want a donut to go with it. She would have preferred if Dog had made the apple juice instead of getting sidetracked.
Both Lucy and Alex highly recommend the book to other kids, as it's fun to read. They also recommend the cartoon series based on the book, available on Amazon Prime. The book is suitable for children up to eight years old.
