Proposal info:

This proposal will cover my development cost for the months of August and September. I will work full time on the core wallet where I will focus mainly on finishing shield staking and fixing some vulnerabilities in sapling

Last proposal update:

Updates on how the last proposal ended can be found in the comments of this thread: https://forum.pivx.org/threads/alessandro-pivx-dev-may.1392/

A possible roadmap:

Shield Staking

On shield staking there are mainly 3 tasks left that I will try to complete in the next 2 cycles:
  • Optimize the proof size (which first requires updating the librustzcash lib)
  • Write unit and functional tests
  • Lot of testing and reviews
Sapling vulnerabilities

There are many small bugs in the shielding system that have been discovered and documented by zcash devs years ago and that we will finally be able to implement since we are updating the librustzcash lib.
Examples: zip212 (https://zips.z.cash/zip-0212) and zip216 (https://zips.z.cash/zip-0216).

Nice proposal, perfectly concise.

What changes will the lighter shield staking have on the end user? will it mean less resources needed for staking? or a smaller bloat to the PIVX blockchain over time?
Also I hope your university studies went well! :)

Hi thanks for the review! The optimization will make only the block size smaller, so smaller blockchain size over time
