Schwinghammer named to All-American team

Northland freshman Tiyana Schwinghammer has been named to the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball All-America Second Team. Schwinghammer made an immediate impact for the Pioneers during her freshman season. She averaged 15.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Schwinghammer started all 31 games for the Pioneers. She was the Pioneers second-leading scorer with 467 points, nine behind sophomore Emma Osborn. She led the Pioneers in total rebounds, with 299, and her total of 100 assists trailed only Joise Iverson, who finished the season with 175. Schwinghammer also recorded a team-high 10 double-doubles during the 2023-24 season.
