Gin Stephens is the author of 28 Day Fast Start Day-by-Day (2023), Clean(ish) (2022), Fast. Feast. Repeat. (2020), an instant New York Times and USA Today bestseller, and Delay, Don’t Deny: Living an Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle (2016), an Amazon #1 best seller in the weight loss category. Gin has been living the intermittent fasting lifestyle since 2014. This lifestyle shift allowed her to lose over 80 lbs. and launch her intermittent fasting website, IF support groups, four self-published books, and two top-ranked podcasts—Intermittent Fasting Stories, where Gin talks to a variety of intermittent fasters from around the world, and Fast. Feast. Repeat. Intermittent Fasting for Life, with cohost Sheri Bullock. Gin graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach Training Program (2019).     I found fasting from a Yoga teacher back at the end of 2018. I then purchased Gin previous book Fast, Feast Repeat and this is honestly the greatest book for fasting; I have others but this is the one I always reach for to check back in with - the ultimate factor being the Clean Fasting advice, it's a complete game changer!

    I have shared FFR with friends and some immediately took to it but others it has taken a bit longer have it develop into a life style. I have purchased this new 28 day fast start book to follow the day by day to experience the journey again, even though I have been fasting for five years I have no doubt I will discover new and forgotten nuggets of wisdom to enrich my own journey and things that I can also share.

    I have followed Gin's advice and purchased a hard copy of the book as there are parts that are like a workbook to record data and insights along the way. I already have the audio version to listen to on the morning dog walk and then I can contemplate the days advice/lessons before filling in my workbook. I will also be joining in with the online community as there is a group of members starting at day one one Jan 4th 2024.

    This day by day guide is the perfect introduction to a fasting lifestyle that sticks. It’s the TLDR version of Fast Feast Repeat, which is a great resource for those who like to read.
    You get all Gin’s wisdom and experience from having guided thousands of people into a successful fasting lifestyle, in a bitesize, daily format. If you’ve got a question, she’s already answered it 😊

    There is so much information out there about intermittent fasting that it is difficult to know where to start. Start here, I say. It guides you beautifully through 28 days. I bought the audio book and was very pleased that all the sections were given titles so it was easy to flit back amd forth through sections - excellent! I felt supported. I had tried intermittent fasting a year earlier but felt like I was constantly grabbing for more information. This book has it all in manageable chunks - and guides you to other sources of info. At the end of 28 days I had lost 7lbs when the author says she doesn't expect anyone to lose weight after 28 days as this is just the start of a lifetime journey. I was resistant to the idea of the clean fast but it works. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

    Gin's books have been life changing for me. I'm 64 with a history of battling to try and keep my weight managed (always up and down a stone or so) and now keeping my health in check. Gin is so grounded in all that is wise and sensible, not trying to earn a fast buck or blind you with science. The teacher in her guides you systematically through all you need to know and why, makes so much sense and now broken into bite size chunks. I recommend you get and that you won't be disappointed.

    Really benefitting from this book to support my first attempt at IF, the journaling section helps focus my mind too. Would have given 5* but the quality of the paper is very poor.

    Fantastic book, really helpful for new fasters or experienced fasters that need a fresh start, great for helping you understand what amazing work your body is doing during the fast

    Gin Stephens is één van de goeroes van intermitterend vasten : ze heeft een zeer populaire podcast en ze heeft al enkele boeken geschreven over IF. Ze baseert zich op wetenschappelijke feiten en studies, (Jason Fung, Bert Herring, Michael Mosley…) en in dit “28 dagen dagboek” geeft ze elke dag wat wetenschappelijke informatie over vasten, op een manier dat gemakkelijk te begrijpen is.
    Het boek werkt motiverend : je leert elke dag iets meer over de wetenschap achter het vasten, en je schrijft in dit dagboek wat er goed gaat, wat er minder goed gaat, …
    Ik raad aan om het paperback boek te kopen en niet de kindle, want de bedoeling is dat je er elke dag in schrijft.
    Het boek hoort samen met het boek “Fast, feast, repeat” : Gin refereert regelmatig naar meer gedetailleerde informatie in dat boek.
    Als je slechts één boek wil kopen, dan raad ik aan dat je “fast, feast, repeat” koopt.

    I found this book to be a great way to learn about IF and to keep reflecting on our days and celebrate the little wins we have each day! I have just come back to fasting and it was a wonderful tool for me! So great for begginers and people already fasting who need some focus! Thank you Gin!
