WHO WE ARE:

It Takes a Village believes celebrating our community starts with showing up to support it. Each year we partner with local nonprofits to provide necessary hygiene products for anyone in need.

THE NEED:

To support those without access to basic hygiene products, we build a variety of "kits" that provide necessary products to stay healthy and feel your best. Our kits are distributed amongst our sponsored nonprofit partners throughout the Sioux Falls community.

• Confidence Kit- Feeling confident plays a major role in uplifting women experiencing challenges in their life. Having small luxuries like body spray, nail polish or their very own shade of lip gloss can provide a much needed confidence to get them through each day. Kit includes: 1 Chapstick, 1 Nail polish, 1 Nail polish remover wipes, 1 Deodorant, 5 Tampons/pads, 1 Body spray
• Large Hygiene Kit- To aid those in the community that do not have reliable access to basic hygiene products. These kits include all necessary toiletries for maintaining good hygiene and menstrual products for one to three full cycles. Kit includes: 1 Package of feminine wet wipes, 1 Toothbrush, 1 Toothpaste, 1 Shampoo, 1 Conditioner, 1 Soap/Body wash, 20 Tampons, 5 Pads (overnight maxi pads) 1 Chapstick, 1 Deodorant
• Postpartum Kit- To aid families in the community that lack resources for taking care of an infant or toddler. These kits include helpful essentials a new parent may need, but not have the means to access. Kit includes: 1 Nursing Leakage Pad, 5 Depends or Pads,  20 Diapers, 1 Swaddle/Blanket, 1 Nipple cream, Fuzzy socks for mom, 1 Lotion for mom, 1 Small toy for baby/toddler, 1 Water bottle
• Home Kit- Many individuals in our community are escaping domestic violence, coming out of prison, or starting over after suffering addiction. While some are moving here as refugees, building a new life for their family. New Home kits provide the essentials one might need upon moving into their own space and starting fresh, such as towels, cleaning supplies and a gift card to buy what they need. Kit includes:1 Laundry Basket, 5 Toilet Paper roll, 2 Bathroom towel, 2 Kitchen Towel, 1 Toilet cleaner, 1 Laundry soap, 1 Dish soap
