My favorite change/addition was this baked potato sack! It is designed for microwaving baked potatoes.

I love baked potatoes, but I hated having to wait 45 minutes or 1 hour to make make one. This sack makes a fluffy backed potato in less than 10 minutes. You don't even have to stab it with a fork, but I guess you could if you need to let out some aggression. Evidence of yesterday's lunch included!

Haha! A baked potato sack???!!!! I've never seen one of these! I guess my favorite gadget last year was my automatic wine opener. Because wine needs to be open quickly around here. I hope for 2024 that I can finally get that air fryer everyone keeps talking about. @George Ganahl told me you can roast your own coffee beans in it!

Where has baked potato bags been all my life? Same on the cooking time. Sometimes I want one when I work from home but I have to set an alarm to throw one in the microwave well before lunch.

In 2023 my wife decided it would be nice to remodel the kitchen.  After getting quotes, I learned that kitchen remodels are very expensive.  I then decided I would take a stab at doing the renovation myself.  The project started in April...it is not yet finish.  I "learned" why kitchen remodels are so expensive.  I can say that I did learn a lot (especially what NOT to do) along the way and it doesn't (and probably will never) look as good as if a professional did it, but I am still glad I did it myself.  My wife on the other hand....not so excited it is done yet, but she has been very supportive along the way.

My wife also loves potatoes so I will be picking up a baked potato sack to try and score some brownie points :-)

    Hi everyone,

Last year was a game-changer for me as I took on the challenge of developing ConvoWizzard, a Genesys app/plugin. It's designed to tackle those small but pesky issues we face in customer interactions, like those awkward silent moments. With features like Automatic Customer Engagement and a Quick Response Library, it's been a real-time-saver for our agents and improved the customer experience too. Creating ConvoWizzard was a blend of problem-solving and creativity, and it's been rewarding to see the positive impact. This really showcased how amazing Genesys is to use, truly able to customise and build on with any idea you could have! Excited to keep improving it and making our customer interactions even smoother in 2024!

I spent a lot of time each week and month educating our staff on the new features that are released each week.  Late last year, I convinced my company to begin providing this to our support customers and got resources to allow a weekly email, a monthly top 10 list, a monthly seminar, and a quarterly/yearly recap.  All these are meant to help them understand importance of the features that come out and keep them focused on the innovation of the product.  It was my passion in years past and now it is an offering with technical and marketing behind it.  Now I can focus more on helping customers and the community with the issues that are important to them.  Also shooting for that 5000 posts badge!

I built several pieces of furniture for a big overhaul/reorganization project of my kids' rooms. We'll see how long the cleanliness lasts, but being able to actually see the floor in their rooms and walk in without peril brought me an immense amount of joy.

On the Genesys side, at long last I acquired an SMS short code when my application was finally approved. It was a serious ordeal, so there were definitely some celebratory drinks.

As 2023 closed I wrapped up 33 months consulting for a major customer doing a net-new migration from Genesys Engage Premises to Genesys Cloud. The joy was seeing the first phase (and majority) of the migration completed. Many new features were implemented, including Conditional Group Routing, Agent Assist, Operational Console, behind-the-scenes improvements in Assignment Service and API queries for Queues...lots and lots of great stuff to make Genesys Cloud even more capable as a large enterprise CCaaS platform.

Right now we have a Genesys PS engineer who is creating a lot of automation for us but also sharing the code and what he is doing. I have begun dabbling a little bit in Python because of it. It's actually interested me enough to pick up a few Python books and lit a spark to learn coding that I thought died 20 years ago in college.

Last year I initiated the switch from another contact center platform to Genesys Cloud in one of the divisions at my company. We are about ready to launch, and this switch is going to save us time and money, help us automate and give us insight we did not have before. I am excited about 2024 now... :-)

At the start of 2023 we only had voice queues and throughout 2023 many of our business units moved their mailboxes into Genesys.  The big enhancement here was this allowed us to track more interactions our agents were handling on a daily basis to help improve and gain efficiencies.  Without these being in Genesys, it was difficult to quantify time spent on email interactions.  Now with reporting, staff have saved further time on generating manual reports for management.  It's also allowed us to automate and distribute specific emails to skilled agents.  Big win for us.

2023 was the year of the TTRPG (table top role playing games) for me.

Partially due to complete and utter screw up by Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro who own Dungeons and Dragon's over the Open Gaming Licenses debacle at the start of the year (they completely caved and reversed course in the end but lasting damage was done). So the year started of very stressful in this space, but as a result there has been an explosion of interest and popularity in other TTRPG systems by fans either jumping ship entirely or just keeping their options open, so it has been a joy to read through new rule sets and play games with completely different themes and mechanics with friends.

You want to play as a Vampire in a modern setting struggling with loosing their humanity while controlling the hungry beast within, got you covered. Want to play a more normal modern person but within lovecraftian horror themes, we have that too, want to play a super hero in The Boys setting, got it, gritty Expanse like Sci Fi, yes please, your own Stargate adventures, you know it, Sailor moon in a dystopian universe, yup, hunted by a xenomorph in the Alien setting, have that too. Just about any  genre and theme you like there is a system out there, some rules light some with lots of crunchy maths and complex rules, and all with a much more active interest and community behind them than ever before, which leads to more and better products. And then on top of that we got new video games based on TTRPGs, Dungeons and Dragons the movie, its been good year for the hobby.

My e-reader!  It sparked my love of reading again, and also provides some cost savings on the books, as well as limits any unnecessary waste if the books end up in a landfill (I do donate, but I can't control what happens after that!).  I also found holding books was hurting my arm due to a disability that I have.  The e-reader stands on its own and is much more comfortable to use which is a huge win.

So we had a guest bedroom that was not being used and my office was just a thrown together spot. My husband and I decided to get rid of the guest bedroom and make it a full on office space for him and I. While cleaning we decided that minimalizing our clothes and other furniture would be good, so we donated most of our items.

It didn't save time or money, but it gave me a space that was easier to think in and i feel this helped start my year off right. for those who love organizing and cleaning this was so refreshing for me.

Last year was a wild ride for me! I got promoted from my previous position and joined the team I am with today shortly before we implemented Genesys Cloud for our team. It was a lot of new tasks and systems, learning a ton and being able to use my English with the new plataform and providers (which I didn't do before, but absolutely loved!)

And off the work theme, I made the most delicious apple pie ever, and plan to make it again this year :D

Last year I taught my niece 'Driving.' She learnt well and I hope she drives her new car responsibly, however What I learnt is - 'How to teach driving to a teenager.'
I also learnt a lot about GenZ.
Regarding Genesys, I cleared Genesys CX Professional, Specialist-Architect & Specialist Scripting Exams; and now I'm building Call Flows for our Clients.
In conclusion, 2023 was a learning year !!

I was chosen to learn Genesys Cloud, assist in implementation, and train the Agents in our call center. This was a large feat for me, but I created my own 'guide' based off of notes I took down during my E-Learning courses which assisted me greatly with this. I also created our in-house Genesys focus group where a team of Supervisors, Agents, Developers, and Managers meet once a month to go over features we would like to see/implement, go over the Beta Boards, etc. =)

I leveled up my knowledge of AWS to refactor some of my current personal products to a more flexible environment.  The speed of deploying an API is pretty crazy now-a-days.

I took a VMware Certified Professional course and loved it! Learning brings me joy. I am super excited as we migrate to Genesys Cloud this year!!

Something that added plentiful value and joy to my life in 2023 was investing in a leaf blower/mulcher.  It changed my yard work duties for the better.

Hiring contractors for my home remodeling to reduce personal stress and time savings for me to enjoy my time with family. I used to always do most of my home improvements myself, but they are starting to get more complicated and the lack of my skill to go and learn them and tackle them myself was becoming limited as the kids get older for their activities. Hard pill to swallow in terms of a cost level, but def enjoying it overall as I don't have to do it and the outcome has made me happy to be with the family more!

We went from an old slimline dishwasher to a full size one with a cutlery tray rather than cutlery caddy. A huge improvement that I appreciate each time.
