Let the court decide on Bella's murder case, says Johor top cop

JOHOR BARU: Police have advised the family of murdered single mother Mila Sharmilah Samsusah, better known as Bella, to stop speculating and let the court decide on the case.

Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar said the suspect - Bella’s boyfriend Mohammad Haikal Mahfuz - had already been charged in court on Jan 24 after investigations were done.

“As members of the public, we should not judge.

“All those involved will get the chance to defend themselves but in the end, it is the court that will come up with a judgement,” he said in a press conference after launching a non-governmental organisation’s Ramadan food drive at the Bandar Baru Uda mosque here on Friday (March 1).

He was asked about Bella’s family, including her sister Norhisham Samsusah’s continuous allegations on social media regarding the matter.

Kumar added that police would look into the contents of the posts before deciding on further actions.

Bella, 32, was allegedly murdered between 11pm on Dec 14 and 5.30am on Dec 15 last year between Jalan Kelapa Bali in Taman Soga and Jalan Parit Besar in Kampung Parit Besar, and also an abandoned house at Lorong Imam Jailani, Jalan Besar in Tongkang Pechah, Batu Pahat.

Her 25-year-old boyfriend, a former postman, was charged with the murder on Jan 24.
