Sustainability is a big, big topic right now 💚
And, as coworking is today’s working model of choice, the movement is expected to strive towards creating healthy, equitable, and resilient buildings.
But time is of the essence ⏰
The UK Government has set out ambitious targets for the sector to meet net zero by 2050.
Back in November, The Instant Group facilitated an insightful workshop at Techspace for workspace operators (as part of GCUC UK).
Here are a few tips shared...
🤝 Coworking champions collaboration. Forging strong partnerships with landlords can help both parties improve sustainability credentials in office buildings.
⭕️ A shared sense of space. Sharing resources, from small things like desks and computer equipment, to bigger amenities like kitchen facilities contributes to reducing emissions.
🔨 The nature of flex. Instead of knocking down walls, workspaces could offer their members different office size variations or support them in moving into another building under the same brand.
At the workshop, everyone was open to sharing their stories about what they're doing to improve sustainability credentials. It was lovely to experience the spirit of collaboration 🤗
