In 2013, just a year after completing his education, Nicholas Mukhtar laid the foundation for “Healthy Detroit,” an organization dedicated to fostering preventive health practices in Detroit, Michigan, by implementing the National Prevention Strategy. Serving as its founder and CEO for nearly five years, he skillfully steered the organization to success.

Mukhtar also founded “Healthy Communities LLC,” a company committed to collaborating with public health agencies, corporations, non-profits, and municipalities to cultivate healthy communities.

For the past decade, he has led “The Mukhtar Group” LLC, primarily focusing on business management. Currently, he holds the position of senior business management consultant at Tera in Florida, where he partners with CEOs, MDs, business owners, and others to facilitate their digital transformation journey.

Nicholas Mukhtar’s expertise includes devising tactical plans and executing regional or group strategies, steering critical strategic initiatives, optimizing business processes, and addressing pivotal challenges. He provides consultative guidance, influences decision-making, pioneers cutting-edge technologies, and manages customer service standards to enhance future revenue prospects.

Professionally, Mukhtar is proficient in Arabic and Spanish, with native bilingual fluency in English. Apart from his professional ventures, he holds affiliations with various prominent organizations:

  • Board member at the MIU Men’s Health Foundation since 2014.
  • Appointed co-chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission by the mayor of Detroit.
  • Member of the external advisory board for the MPH program at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
  • Holds positions on the boards of the Michigan Parks and Recreation Association and the Chandler Park Conservancy since 2016.
  • Integral part of the steering committee of the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance since 2017.
  • Appointed as a board member at St. Mary Mercy Livonia, a division of the Trinity Health System, in 2018.
